Alison Pascal is from Salem, Oregon and currently pursuing a B.A. in Studio Art at Southern Illinois University at Edwardsville. Her primary focuses are in printmaking and photography (darkroom and digital), but she has a background in other areas such as sculptural techniques (wood, stone, bronze lost wax casting and mixed media), stained glass, prop and set design, window dressing and papercrafts.
Her works have been included in local Oregon art showcases such as Salem First Wednesday and in a successful solo show of photography at Western Oregon University titled Emotional Groundwork. Prior to that, she has shown prints as part of the annual Chemeketa Community College Art Student Show and was published in WOU's Northwest Passage annual arts newsletter which features juried student work submissions.
Field experience includes internships and professional work with local Salem artists Diane Beals and Tanya Hale-Nurmi (formerly of KJB Design & Pagyn Skye Productions) Alison has familiarity in many styles of photography ranging from studio portraiture to formal events as well as ability in photographic editing and design involved in digital to printed production. She has also taken private commissions for drawn portraiture and private event photography.
Her goals include applying to a masters program in art therapy, to continue exploring other fine art mediums, strengthen her abilities in digital photo processing and begin exploring more advanced printmaking techniques.
